What is AntiGravity® yoga?
A fusion fitness technique modified and enhanced to fit the yoga mold utilizing aspects of dance, pilates, calisthenics and gymnastics.  AntiGravity® Yoga is designed to increase one’s overall heath and physical agility while having fun and creating beauty.
 
Where have I seen the AntiGravity® hammock used in performance?
• The Salt Lake City 2002 Olympic Games featured an AntiGravity® Hammock performance nightly at the Olympic Medals Plaza.
• The Obama Inauguration Neighborhood Ball on ABC television featured performances on the AntiGravity® Hammock .
• Mariah Carey flew in the air in an AntiGravity® Hammock on her "Charmbracelet Tour". The stunt was designed by AntiGravity®.
• 50 Cent was flanked by The Women of AntiGravity® performing in AntiGravity® Hammocks on the 2007 B.E.T Awards.

I haven’t done yoga before. Will I be able to do this?
In a word, YES! No prior yoga experience is necessary. We have small classes with certified teachers who give you individualized attention to ensure proper form. The exercises and pace of the exercises can be modified to fit your needs, goals and fitness level.
 
I’ve done yoga in the past and I used to exercise regularly but I’m pretty out of shape now.  Will I be able to do AntiGravity® Yoga?
Yes! AntiGravity® Yoga is open to all Fitness Levels. Since this is the first time AntiGravity® Yoga is being offered in SLC it will be new for everyone. Therefore we will be starting at the same level.  As the classes progress, the exercises and pace of the exercises can be modified to fit your needs, goals and fitness level. However, if you are coping with an injury, it is always best to have your doctor’s consent before embarking on any new exercise program or therapy.
 
I have bad knees and a bad back. Other exercises exacerbate my pains. How will AntiGravity® yoga feel on my aches and pains?
AntiGravity® Yoga allows you to be in complete control of your own resistance, including how much weight and pressure you put on your joints. The AntiGravity® Yoga hammock allows for equal distribution of body weight and therefore helps relieve the pressure normally placed on your knees and back.

I’m pregnant. Can I take this class?
Yes, you control the movements in your hammock so you can certainly choose to do more or less based on your size and your needs. Of course, we recommend you speak to your Doctor or midwife if you have any specific concerns.

Can my child take class with me?
Children 11-15 may attend with a parent/caregiver if they have yoga, gymnastics, sports or cheerleading experience.  Children 16 and up may attend without an adult.  All children need a parental signature on their waiver release form.

I’m an athlete, is AntiGravity® Yoga a good option for Cross–Training?

 Absolutely it is a complete total body workout that strengthens core and increases overall agility. The utilization of the AntiGravity® Hammock allows overworked muscles to relax as secondary muscles take over to lengthen and strengthen.  The inversions allow for spinal decompression bringing healing oxygen on a cellular

Can that hammock hold me?
Yes, it holds 1000+lbs so it could essentially support you.

What can/can't I wear?
Comfortable, fitting clothing with sleeves is the best for class. In an effort to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of the AntiGravity® hammocks, please refrain from wearing jewelry, velcro clothing and heavy makeup. (If needed, use a band-aid over wedding rings, piercings, etc.)
 
What kind of difference can I expect to see in my body and conditioning after a few classes?
Every student is different however, Students and Teachers of AntiGravity® Yoga have said:
    “After just two classes I’m feeling lighter and refreshed and my posture has improved.”
     “Not only haven’t I slept this well in years, this morning I got up at 5:30 without an alarm and felt wonderful.”
    “By the third class I felt more powerful.”
    “After five classes, I’m starting to see definition in my stomach that I haven’t seen since before I had my kids.”

How much are classes?
Your first introductory class is just $10.00 (for current Utah residents; $18 for non-residents). Drop in rates are: $18 or $15 (w/ a current student ID). 10-Class Passes are: $140 or $110 (w/ a current student ID). 5 class Passes are: $80 or $65 (w/ current student ID)
 
What is your reservation and cancellation policy?
We strongly recommend you reserve a spot in our AntiGravity® classes. To schedule a class AntiGravity Yoga schedule .   Your Payment will secure your spot. Cancellations are required 24 hours in advance. If you give us less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for one class.  We understand there are circumstances in which you may find it impossible to make your class without having given 24 hour notice of cancellation. In the event you are sick or have an unavoidable emergency, please call us to discuss.

I have my kids during the day. Is there any childcare?
Yes, we have babysitting available for a nominal fee during the 1.5-hour classes at 1PM on Mondays & Wednesdays.  We also have FREE babysitting during our 1-hour classes on Thursdays at 9am and 11:30am.
