Scholarship FAQs

Q. What is the Imagination Place Scholarship?

Imagination Place Scholarships are full and partial scholarships specifically earmarked for Music Together classes. The scholarships enable families who otherwise might not have the opportunity to partake in these rich, musical experiences for their children.

Q. Can I make a tax-deductible donation to the Imagination Place scholarship fund?

Yes. Through the genorosity of the HEAL Foundation, a charitable, non-profit 501 (c) (3), your donation is 100% tax-deductible. There are several ways to donate. You can mail your donation to Imagination Place Attn: Imagination Place Scholarship Fund at 1155 East 3300 South Salt Lake City, UT 84106, call (801) 463-9067, or include it with your own registration payment each session.

Q. Who may benefit from a Imagination Place Scholarship?

Anyone may benefit, whether a first-time family or a family who has been part of the Imagination Place family for years. Other recipients may include non-profit organizations such as Headstart, YWCA, and Intergenerational Outreach classes.

Q. Do I need to divulge personal financial information?

No, no financial data is asked for, the honor system rules here. If you request a scholarship we trust that you need the assistance. Simply answer the questions on the Scholarship Application and your request will be considered.

Q. Are scholarships ever denied?

On occasion, yes. Unfortunately there are people who may not value the philosophies of Music Together®. It is only fair in that case to pass the scholarship along to a family that values the family and community music-making experience. Examples of scholarship denials are an unwillingness on the part of an adult to participate in class or multiple absences that are not due to a special circumstance.

Q. How are the scholarships awarded?

The questions on the Scholarship page are answered by the applicant and submitted to Imagination Place via email ( or mail (1155 East 3300 South Salt Lake City, UT 84106). Once the application has been processed the available funds will be reviewed and scholarship amounts determined. Every measure is taken to provide opportunities to all applicants, however sometimes this is fiscally not possible.

Q. May a scholarship recipient apply for subsequent scholarships?

Yes, a previous recipient is welcome to apply for a second or even third scholarship, but is asked to use the Scholarship Renewal Application.
